UPINGTON, AI AIS/RICHTERSVELD TRANS FRONTIER PARK, NAMIB KGALAGADI TRANSFRONTIER PARK

DAY 1. UPINGTON – AUGRABIES (150km)
We depart after pick up at the bus station via Keimoes, Kakamas to Augrabies National Park. We visit the falls in Khoi San that means the place of great noise, and the six largest waterfall in the world, the Moon rock, Oranjekom and Ararat.
Optional the Dassie trail.
Accommodation: Chalet or Camping
Meals: Lunch, Dinner.

DAY 2. AUGRABIES NATIONAL PARK – SPRINGBOK (232km)
Depart from Augrabies National Park to Klein Pella, the largest Dates Palm farm in the Southern Atmosphere of the world
Accommodation: Springbok Guest House or Camping
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 3. SPRINGBOK – AI AIS RICHTERSVELD TRANSFRONTIER PARK
(320 km)
Depart from Springbok to Sendelingsdrift, via, Steinkopft, Port Nolloth and Alexanderbaai.
The Ai – Ais Richtersveld Transfrontier Park covers an area of 6045sq km and 1625sq km are on the South Africa side and 4420sq km are on the Namibia side. It lies within a dry and remote area and the landscape is harsh and spectacular. The Park area is also regarded as more inhospitable and the only true mountain desert in Southern Africa.

DAY 4. SENDELINGSDRIFT (50km)
After breakfast we depart to Richtersberg see the halfmans plant and the hand of God. This Park is the biggest Mountain Park in the world.
We go through the Akkadispas into the Koeroegavlakte to Richtersberg.

DAY 5. AI AIS/RICHTERSVELD – LUDERITZ (415km)
After a fast breakfast we cross the Orange River on a ferry via Rosh Pinah, Aus to Luderitz and visit Dias Point where there is a replica of the cross erected in July 1488 by Portuguese Bartolommeo Dias on his return from the Cape of Good Hope after navigating the first ship round the southern point of Africa. You have a good view of Halifax Island home of many Cape Fur Seals. Many flamingos can be seen in this area

DAY 6. LUDERITZ – FISHRIVER CANYON (454km)
After breakfast we visit the Diamond Ghost Town Kolmanskop. On the way to our destination we stop at Garub near Aus to see the Feral Horses of the Namib.
We visit the Fish River canyon with the lookout points. This is the second largest canyon in the world and largest in Africa. It features a gigantic ravine, in total about 160 km long, 27 km wide and in places 550 meters deep.

DAY 7. FISHRIVER CANYON – KGALAGADI TRANSFRONTIER PARK
(280 km)
After an early breakfast we depart to Mata – Mata camp in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, visit the Quiver tree forest, the Gains play ground, enter the park before the border closed. The Botswana and South – African Wildlife authorities have cooperated in the management of the two parks since 1948.

In 1999 the two Presidents of the two countries signed a treaty that would link the two Parks under one name the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and become one of the largest parks in the world.

The size of the park is quite overwhelming, the South African side is 9591 square kilometer with a further 28400 square kilometer on the Botswana side.

The two conservation areas encompass two of the three Kalahari ectypes. The south-western part comprises duneveld with his unique semi-desert vegetation, and the north-eastern part comprises Kalahari plains thornveld. This area incorporates salt pans which play an important role in the life patterns of the Kalahari game.

The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is one of the most pristine conservation areas on earth.

DAY 8. MATA-MATA – NOSSOB (150km)
We do a game driving in the Auob riverbed too and looking for the Lions, Leopard, Cheetah and the unexpected, Meerkats and wildlife.
Accommodation: Chalets or Camping
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

DAY 9. TWEE REVIEREN – UPINGTON 260 KM
We do a short game drive and depart from Twee Rivieren, to the final destination in Upington.
Accommodation can vary from the itinerary depending on the availability of Lodge/Chalet or camping.

Please keep luggage to a minimum – 1 soft bag (maximum 15 kg)
+ Small day bag (up to 5kg)
