South African Tours - Tour 2

DAY 1 – UPINGTON – AUGRABIES (280 km)
We depart from Upington at 8:30 and drive to Keimoes where you have a view of the Orange River Valley from “Tierberg Mountain”. At Kakamas we stop at the”Pienk Padstal” where you can buy dried fruit and other interesting remembrances.

Then we depart to Augrabies (Place of the big noise) derived from the Khoi word AUKOEREBIS, we visit the main attraction where the falls divides itself into numerous channels that careens down a 90 meters abyss with a 56 meter freefall and continues downstream, through the ravine for 18km. The park is approximately 51113 hectares with the Orange River as the northern border between South  Africa and Namibia. This is the longest river in South  Africa. There are 49 mammal species, 181 bird species, 20 species of snakes, 29 species of lizards and 12 fresh water fish species.

You can also walk the “Dassie Trail” (5 km) through the incredible sandstone formations and beautiful landscape.

DAY 2 – AUGRABIES – UPINGTON (280 km)
After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a game drive. You can see Giraffe, Klipspringer, Gemsbok, Springbok and smaller animals like the Dassie, Baboon, Monkeys and Birds. We visit the viewpoints, Ararat, Moon rock and the Echo corner,where we may get out of our vehicles and walk to the side of the ravine and take photos.

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

Depart to Upington. Drop off at Guest House/Lodge or Airport. Accommodation at own cost.
