NAMIBIA- BOTSWANA VIC FALLS TOUR
16 DAYS – 15 NIGHTS
This tour goes through a malaria area.

This tour covers 9 National parks and 5 reserve/conservation areas. This tour can also starts in Johannesburg or Cape Town and end in Windhoek or Upington (2 days extra)

Starts in Upington and end in Johannesburg (2 days extra) Etosha NP, Mahango NP, Madumo NP, Chobe NP, Vic Falls NP, Nata Bird Sanctuary Johannesburg.

DAY 1. WINDHOEK – WATERBERG PLATU PARK 278 km
The Waterberg Plateau National Park is a particularly prominent location, elevating high above the plains of the Kalahari of Eastern Namibia. This park covers an area of 405 square km and is ecologically diverse and rich and has over 200 different species of birds, black rhinoceros, and small antelope. Geologically, the oldest rock stratum is over 850 million years old and dinosaurs tracks were left there some 200 million years ago.

DAY 2. WATERBERG PLATU PARK – ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK 258 km
Depart to Etosha National Park via Otjiwarongo and Outjo, enter the park at Andersons gate in the south. The park covers an area of 22270 square km. The Etosha pan is 120km long and 72 km at the widest and the pan is an area of 6133 square km. The word” ETOSHA” means “great white place.” Four of the big five species, elephant, black rhino, lion, and leopard, are in the park. Expect for the rare and endemic blackface impala and Damaradik-dik, giraffe, red hartebeest, gemsbok, eland, kudu, cheetah, hyena and large herds of springbok, wildebeest and zebra are common. After arrival, we can do a game drive, or you can sit at the waterhole near the camp and watch the wildlife activities.
Night drive is optional at own risk.

DAY 3. ETOSHA OKAUKEUJU REST CAMP – NAMUTONI REST CAMP 200 km
After breakfast, we depart to Namutoni rest camp via Halali rest camp and do game watching at waterholes.
Night drives is optional at own risk.

DAY 4.ETOSHA – RUNDU 418 km
We depart Etosha National park at Van Lindequist gate to Rundu via Tsumeb and Grootfontein. On the road, we visit Lake Otjikoto this sunken lake was form, when the roof of a huge dolomite cave collapsed, it is clear water and  several species of fish, including two rare mouth-breeding species.

Near Grootfontein is the Hoba Meteorite- the largest known metal meteorite in the world, it has a mass of 54422 kg and consists of 82% iron and 16% nickel and traces of cobalt, copper and chromium.
Rundu is on the Okavango River, which is the border with Angola.

DAY 5. RUNDU – POPA FALLS  223 km
Visit the falls, which is not much more than a big rapid, and Mahangu Game Park. The small but picturesque Mahangu Game Park is situated in the north- east of Namibia on the Botswana border, and covers an area of about 30,000 hectares and is separated from the Caprivi- Game Reserve by the Okavango River. Wildlife includes elephants, lions, leopards, cheetah, wild dogs, hippo, lechwe sitatunga, buffalo, sable, roan and other antelopes. The game park has a rich birdlife.

DAY 6. POPA FALLS – KWANDO CAMP 210 km
We drive through the Caprivi Game Park to Kongola, the park is 5715 square km and deciduous woodlands are dominated by big trees like siring, copal wood and Zambezi teak.

Kwando camp is on the banks of the Kwando River and runs through the Mudumu National Park. The park is about 1009 square km of Savannah, Mopani woodlands and marsh on the eastern shore of the Cuando River. Many animals can be found in this park including elephants, buffalo,
Burchell zebra, hippo and crocodile.

DAY 7 – 8 KWANO CAMP– KATIMA-MULILO 250 km
We drive through the eastern part of the Kwando and Linyanti rivers. Along the rivers there are extensive floodplains, floating papyrus swamps and lush riverine forest. Drive through to Katima Mulilo.The next day we go on a boat trip to look for birds, hippos and crocodiles.

DAY 9. KATIMA-MULILO TO KASANE  120 km
Drive through to Nongoma Bridge clear customs, enter Botswana and proceed to the Chobe National Park.

Accommodation: Ihaha camp. Only camping
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 10 CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
The Chobe is one of the richest wildlife areas in Africa. There is an abundance of game in particular great herds of buffalo and elephants. Boating can be undertaken on Chobe River, which offers you an ideal opportunity for bird watching and viewing game.

Accommodation: Ihaha camp. Only camping.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 11. CHOBE NATIONAL PARK 130 km
Game drive until midday in the park. Take a boat trip on the Chobe River into the park.

DAY 12. KASANE – VIC FALLS  80 km
Do guide day tour through the Zambezi National Park to Vic Falls.
The Victoria Falls & Zambezi National Park is a world heritage, and the falls is one of the worlds wonders and one of the largest and most spectacular waterfalls on earth. The falls are 1,7km wide and nearly 550 million liters of water cascade 70 to 108 meters into the chasm below- every minute-during the Zambezi river peak flow. The fall is made of five different falls. Four of this falls are in Zimbabwe, The Devils cataract, Main fall, Rainbow fall and Horseshoe fall.

The eastern cataract is in the bordering country of Zambia. After the day we depart back to the border.

DAY 13. VIC FALLS TO NATA  400 km
We drive through to Nata via Kasane, the Kasane forest reserve ext., Kazuma forest and Sibuyu forest reserve. Visit Nata bird sanctuary at Sowa pan which is part of the Magadikgadi pans. This is the home of 165 bird species including flamingos and pelicans.

Accommodation: Nata. Camping or Chalet

DAY 14. NATA – KHAMA RHINO SANCTUARY  414 km
This site covers 4,300 hectares of Kalahari sandveld and is centered around Serwe Pan a large grass-covered depression with several natural waterholes. This pan is the prime habitat for white rhinoceros and other grazing animals.

Accommodation: Khama Camping or Chalet
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

DAY 15. KHAMA RHINO SANCTUARY – MARAKELE NATIONAL PARK  410km.
Marakele National Park is situated in the Waterberg Mountains range in the Limpopo Province and is about 90,000 Ha. The views from the top of the mountains are spectacular. You can expect Elephant, Buffalo, Cheetah, Wild Dog, Lion, Rhino ext. Birds the Cape Vulture, Cape Rock Thrush, Mocking Cliff Chat and the Malachite Sunbird.

Accommodation: Marakele National Park .Camping, Tent or Chalet
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 16. MARAKELE NATIONAL PARK – JOHANNESBURG 376km
Depart to Johannesburg. Drop off at Lodge/Guest House or Airport. Accommodation at own cost.

Accommodation can vary from the itinerary depending on the availability of Lodge/Chalet or camping
